Abundant Life Academy Ministries is an early intervention program for unmotivated, gifted teens located in Kanab, Utah. ALA believes that each teen is “chosen for greatness” and that God has an abundant plan for each life. The staff of ALA is committed to the Lord and to the spiritual, academic, and emotional development of each teen. We know that as teens learn the discipline of "looking unto Jesus", they will find that plan and purpose of God...in abundance. We purpose to help them gain ...new perspectives, new awareness, new language, and balanced behaviors as they transition into adult life. We also commit to helping them to "connect the dots"...to God's plan for their lives.

Abundant Life Academy is a powerful Christian boarding school for the struggling and troubled teen. Providing a new look at “truth”, ALA is a college preparatory school, which gives particular emphasis on the emotional and spiritual development of each young person. On the cutting edge of academics, leadership development, and personal spiritual growth, ALA also offers unique opportunities for students to look beyond and give of themselves through a program called ALA Mercy Ministries Outreach.

At ALA Ministries, students learn in a three Trimester program to: “Know Yourself, Choose Yourself, and Give Yourself”. This specialized program is the alternative to the traditional boarding school, the therapeutic boarding school, and the emotional growth boarding school. It is unique in its belief that “Jesus is the ONLY Answer”! As a Christ-centered program, ALA allows for knowledge and application in all the disciplines to fall into their rightful place.

ALA Ministries specializes in transitioning students from adolescence into adulthood. At Abundant Life there is a strong commitment to academic pursuits and Christ-centered (non-denominational) leadership training. We consider ALA Ministries to be a fresh educational alternative to the therapeutic boarding school, taking young men and women from adolescence and training them to meet the basic responsibilities of adulthood. We prepare our students to look toward their future with confidence and boldness. Abundant Life Academy offers a comprehensive independent life skills curriculum which includes: honoring God, understanding respect for authority, training in accountability, making wise choices and decisions, teambuilding, positively facing adversity, and applying self-control and orderly personal habits.

Abundant Life Academy Ministries offers a year round academic program enhanced with an intense emotional growth curriculum using the principles found in the Holy Bible. Students not only study the principles taught by Jesus Christ, but they also learn to apply those principles in all that they do. Students are shown how to tap into the power of God, and to have opportunity to find and choose Him to be their life source and strength. The Directors and staff of ALA are committed to the pursuit of calling forth the destiny that God placed in each of these young student-leaders.

OUR HISTORY
In response to the overwhelming need for a school that will fulfill the lack of Christian leadership rarely found in most emotional growth and traditional boarding schools, Craig Rogers founded Abundant Life Academy as an alternative option for teens. Most specialty schools do not have an emphasis on Christian training. Craig, and his staff, have developed Abundant Life Academy to be a powerful alternative to the “run of the mill” emotional growth/transitional program, emphasizing a foundation under God’s Authority, firmly grounded in the love and transforming power of Jesus Christ.

Craig and Wendy Rogers are committed to sowing the fruit of their lives into troubled young people who are in need of personal hope and change in the areas of academics, behavioral, and spiritual development. Opening their home in December 2000 to such students, Craig and Wendy founded Abundant Life Academy. Since that time, the locations of ALA have moved from Mexico, the Czech Republic, and Nevada before settling among the red rock cliffs of Kanab, Utah, hub to 3 National Parks. This permanent campus of ALA is set to house 60 students, made up of a Boy’s Academy and a Girl’s Academy. The populations of the two Academies are kept separate except for some Leadership and Bible classes 4 days a week, as well as combined church services on Sunday in the Chapel. In weekday academic classes, the genders are separated.
