Academic Philosophy for Troubled Teens at Abundant Life Preparatory
Abundant Life Preparatory is a Christian boarding school for troubled teens with a unique and efficiant academic philosophy. In order to understand our academic philosophy, troubled teens at Abundant Life Preparatory, character must come first. The current popular trend in public education is to force character education through required courses and service hours. Abundant Life Preparatory promotes Christ-centered character education, first, through our core values that have been proven time and time again: accountability, responsibility, integrity, honesty, hard work, discipline. As soon as these troubled boys, and/or troubled girls learn to value themselves as well as others, they improve their behavior, and academic improvement is a benificial consequence that comes naturally.
Our purpose is to strive to fulfill God’s will in every way:
To purely serve the needs of others with regards to body, mind and soul;
To bring to pass the restoration of the family for the glory of God;
And to be a legacy of truth, honor, and integrity.
At Abundant Life Preparatory we use student paced learning. Student paced learning allows students to accelerate their progress in courses that they are strong in and take the extra time needed for more difficult subjects. Core credit is granted when students master the content, not when they've merely spent seat time in class.
Abundant Life Preparatory is a powerful Christian leadership school utilizing accredited academics (accredited by Northwest Association of Accredited Schools), advanced leadership curriculum, and Christ-centered discipleship teaching, (including local, national, and international “mercy ministry” outreach projects). This curriculum and these activities give many opportunities to turn the hearts of our students back to Jesus as they are taught to give back to others from a “servant’s heart.” Abundant Life Preparatory provides familial and academic restoration through a 9 to 12 month advanced program delivered in three phases (TRIMESTERS). Moreover, our students are restored academically, returning home ready to continue on with their course work, and/or go on to college.
