When
a teen continues to have severe problems, a change
has to be made. Then you must to detect what’s
reason behind that and how to solve the problems.
PEER PRESSURE: There will always
be people out there ready to tell you what’s
best for you and how you should run your life,
but only you can truly know what works for you
and what doesn’t; what feels right for you
and what feels wrong. When you overstep your own
boundaries, you are going to feel really crappy.
SELF ESTEEM: Take care of yourself.
This means avoiding negative people and thoughts.
Pessimism is a waste of time. Become an optimist!
Start monitoring your thoughts constantly--every
time you begin putting yourself down, think about
why you feel that way and what circumstances you
are in that might lead you to this conclusion.
PANIC ATTACKS: For instance,
one of the ways to manage your fear is to challenge
your negative thinking with positive statements
and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts
that make you’re fearful or anxious, challenge
those thoughts by asking yourself questions that
will maintain objectivity and common sense. Changing
your thinking can help you manage your fears.
OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER:
Living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and
having to deal with your fearful thoughts can
be extremely difficult. It can be tough for people
with OCD to have to experience obsessive thoughts
that are intrusive, scary, and difficult to manage.
From my interviews with various psychologists,
I was told that a person should visualize a red
stop sign in their mind when they encounter a
fear provoking thought.
FACING THE FEAR AND ANXIETY OF THE UNKNOWN:
All most everybody worry about what will happen
in the future. The prospect of not knowing if
something good or bad will happen to you in the
near future can produce a lot of fear and anxiety.
MANAGING YOUR DEPRESSION: Some
people have a difficult time in managing their
depression. Sometimes, their depression and fears
can get best of them. One of the ways to manage
depression is to challenge your negative thinking
with positive statements and realistic thinking.
ALCOHOL AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE:
It is not easy to deal with our fears and anxieties
however trying to avoid them through Alcohol or
other substances will not work. The best way to
deal with your fears is to find effective ways
to overcome them. So try to avoid from alcohol
and substance abuse.
MANAGING THE FEAR AND LONELINESS: Sometime
or another we will experience a time when we are
alone. There is nothing wrong with being alone.
If being alone bothers you then seeing a counselor
can help you with these issues. The first step
is to find an activity that you enjoy and where
you can meet a lot of people.
