C.A.R.E.Christian Boarding School for Troubled Teens

At C.A.R.E. we believe everything is about “choice”. Troubled teens through out the country would not be sent to Christian boarding schools like C.A.R.E. if they had made the right choices, so obviously a problem exists. Our current status and position in life is determined by an accumulation of our choices. And, in consideration to all the choices we have each day, in reality, it really boils down to just two important choices:  we are going to create resistance (self-centered, selfish, self-absorbed) or create responsiveness (reaching full potential, inviting new opportunities based on trust).  There are no other choices. Either we are going to push people away, creating isolation, loss and regret.  Or we are going to invite others to trust us, support us, and work with us.

This “choice” is what our rebellious teens at C.A.R.E. focus on. They already know what the consequences of following selfishness are (by their recent behaviors, they have all the evidence in the world that “selfishness” destroys liberty and freedom). Our goal at our therapeutic Christian boarding school  is to help the troubled teen re-think their choices, and to lead them to create awareness . . . then enjoy the pure “life” that comes from being accountable.

Know Yourself

To know yourself is to have self-awareness of how you “show up” in the world. It is to know and understand how you function (personality, temperaments, patterns of behavior, choices made and their impact on the individual, etc.). To know yourself is to clearly and humbly identify various patterns that serve you well and those that actually create the opposite of what you really want. Our life is a series of choices made under adverse circumstances. The question is, are we making the kinds of choices that lead to life and liberty, prosperity and purpose, or, are we making choices that lead to restrictions, loss, degradation and regret? Here at C.A.R.E. ( therapeutic Christian boarding school for troubled teens), we help your troubled teens "know themselves".

Before a troubled teen at C.A.R.E. can make good choices, they first need to know all about their giftings, strengths, temperaments, blind spots, weaknesses, and negative behavioral patterns. They need to know about “thinking errors” and “thought distortions”. Basically, they need to see how self-justification and blaming others for their own poor choices will ultimately destroy them.
